Avize, Côte des Blancs

Champagne Camille is the blanc de blancs expression of Champagne Franck Bonville, a family estate with roots going back to the early 20th century when Alfred Bonville acquired his first vineyard plots in the aftermath of the phylloxera crisis. In 1936, Alfred and his son Franck established a winemaking house in the heart of Avize, and the first vintage under the Franck Bonville label followed the exceptional 1959 harvest.

Today the estate is led by Olivier Bonville, who joined in 1997 after studying viticulture and earning a national diploma in oenology, and his son-in-law Ferdinand Ruelle-Dudel, a former aerospace engineer who completed a global tour of wine regions before committing fully to Champagne. Together they manage over 80 parcels planted exclusively with Chardonnay across four Grand Cru villages of the Côte des Blancs: Cramant, Avize, Oger, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.

The style of the house is built on a deep understanding of these specific terroirs: the salinity and precision of Avize, the depth and density of Oger, and the austere, mineral intensity of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The result is champagne of richness, intensity, finesse, and elegance that is unmistakably rooted in the chalk of the Côte des Blancs.
