2008 is one of the great Champagne vintages of the modern era. At Pinot-Chevauchet, this exceptional year is expressed through 100% Chardonnay Premier Cru, vinified without malolactic fermentation, with 15% in Burgundian barrel, bottled in spring 2009 and aged on lees until late disgorgement to keep all its freshness. A deceptively wise nectar, as the house describes it. Awarded Bronze at Decanter World Wine Awards 2017 and Gold at the Concours des Vins Elle à Table 2017.
Tasting notes: Yellow with green tints and very delicate bubbles. On the nose: fresh and delicious, with honey and hints that develop beautifully. On the palate: a gentle, very smooth and fresh attack, leading to a lasting finish with hints of toast and brioche, the hallmarks of a champagne that has had all the time it needed.
Food pairing: A perfect aperitif. Exceptional with sweetbread and semi-cooked foie gras.
