Low stock: 3 left
A vintage Blanc de Blancs of extraordinary provenance. The Millésime 2013 is made from 100% Chardonnay grown on two specific blocks of the estate: one planted by the grandfather in 1949, the other in 1971. Vines between 50 and 75 years old. The 2013 harvest began in early October, unusually late, concentrating the fruit. With only 1,665 bottles produced, this is one of the rarest champagnes in the Champagne Pour Tout portfolio. Like all Chaléroux-Ghys champagnes, aged for no less than 10 years on lees in the cellar, without filtration.
Tasting notes: On the nose: grapefruit and exotic fruits, the low dosage keeping the profile precise and mineral. On the palate: the natural acidity heightens the citrus and exotic fruit aromas, with the decade of lees ageing adding layers of toast and brioche complexity that the nose alone does not reveal. Long, taut and memorable.
Food pairing: A contemplative champagne for exceptional occasions. Outstanding with fine shellfish, lobster, noble white fish and semi-cooked foie gras. Also exceptional on its own.
