A single-village Grand Cru from Puisieulx, one of the four Grand Cru villages where François Secondé owns vines. Puisieulx is a smaller and less well-known Grand Cru than Sillery or Verzenay, but its Pinot Noir produces champagnes of great character and terroir distinction. Partially vinified in oak, like the La Loge. The perpetual reserve, started in 2005, provides 30% of the blend. A champagne that gives voice to a village rarely heard on its own.
Tasting notes: On the nose: the characteristic Pinot Noir richness of Puisieulx, with the subtle woodiness of partial oak ageing. On the palate: full, structured and long — a champagne with vinosity and mineral depth in equal measure.
Food pairing: An excellent table champagne. Outstanding with poultry in cream sauce, roasted white meats, mature soft cheeses and charcuterie.
