Collection: Francois Secondé

Champagne François Secondé, founded in 1972, is a family-owned champagne house based in the Premier Cru village of Sillery, in the Montagne de Reims region of Champagne, France. With a deep-rooted history in viticulture, François Secondé, born into a family of grape growers, made the decision to start producing his own champagne instead of supplying grapes to larger producers.

What sets Champagne François Secondé apart is its dedication to Pinot Meunier, a grape often overshadowed by Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in Champagne blends. François was one of the few producers to believe in the potential of Pinot Meunier as a primary grape, crafting single-variety cuvées that showcase its unique fruitiness and freshness. One of the house’s standout offerings is the “Sillery Blanc de Noirs”, made entirely from Pinot Meunier grapes grown in Premier Cru vineyards.

With around 5.5 hectares of vineyards, the estate remains small and highly focused, allowing for careful, traditional vineyard management and winemaking. Practices such as manual harvesting and extended aging on the lees contribute to the depth and complexity of their champagnes.

After decades of leadership, François Secondé passed the estate to his family, who continue to uphold the house’s legacy. Today, Champagne François Secondé is celebrated for its artisanal approach, sustainable practices, and its rare focus on Pinot Meunier, earning a loyal following among champagne enthusiasts. Though a boutique producer, the house’s commitment to quality and terroir-driven champagnes has garnered recognition both in France and internationally.
