The only still red wine in the Vignon Père & Fils range, a Coteaux Champenois from the village of Verzy. Coteaux Champenois rouge is one of the rarest and most demanding expressions in the entire Champagne appellation: still Pinot Noir from the same Grand Cru vineyards that produce the region's finest sparkling wines. In the hands of Stéphane Vignon, the same uncompromising philosophy that defines the champagnes applies here, natural yeasts, oak barrel vinification, no fining, no filtration. The name refers to the church of Saint Basles in Verzy, a landmark of the village. This is not champagne, it is Verzy Pinot Noir as a red Burgundy, produced in tiny quantities.

Tasting notes: The power and depth of Verzy Pinot Noir without the effervescence, chalk-driven minerality, red fruit concentration and the oak complexity of the Vignon house style, all expressed in a still wine of great character and regional identity.

Food pairing: A rare wine for contemplative occasions. Outstanding with roasted duck, game birds, aged Époisses or Langres, and Pinot Noir-classic mushroom and truffle preparations.
