Lepreux-Penet - Millesime 2012 - Grand Cru

The ripening of the 2012 grapes took place under real summer conditions that Champagne had not experienced since the summer of 2003. Hot, dry and sunny weather accompanied the veraison. A rainy interlude at the beginning of September allowed the grapes to thicken until a harvest in optimal conditions with impeccable sanitary quality. The 2012 musts presented a beautiful balance in the average of the last 10 years. The harvest was characterized by low yields but a significant aging potential reflecting the character of the terroirs of the great mountain of Reims.

6000 bottles composed of 50% Chardonnay giving it finesse, lightness and aromatic intensity and 50% Pinot Noir for power and body, selected from our oldest clay-limestone plots on Verzy and Verzenay classified Grand Cru.

Tasting secrets:

• Eye: Beautiful sustained gold note.
• Nose: The nose is fresh and expressive, with a very beautiful complexity mixing aromas of white-fleshed fruits.
• Palate: The mouth is pure and balanced with a beautiful length. A lot of freshness and potential for this wine that can be tasted now or wait a few years.
