Avize, Côte des Blancs - Grand Cru

Champagne Chaléroux-Ghys is a small, artisanal producer based in Avize, the heart of the Côte des Blancs. The estate farms four hectares of vineyards across the neighbouring Grand Cru villages of Avize and Oger, where Chardonnay reigns exclusively.

What makes Chaléroux-Ghys genuinely distinctive is its approach in the cellar: minimal intervention, no filtration, and an unusually long élevage sur latte of no less than ten years. This extended contact with the lees after the second fermentation gives the wines a complexity, creaminess, and toasted depth that sets them apart from most champagnes on the market. The resulting style is immediately recognisable: rich brioche, toasted notes, and a full-bodied presence born of patience and restraint.

The estate is a father-and-son operation, focused almost entirely on the craft of winemaking rather than commercial activity. Visits are by arrangement, reflecting a house that puts the wine first and everything else second. Chaléroux-Ghys is for those who appreciate champagne built for time.
