2016 was an exceptionally sunny and generous vintage in Champagne, and at Franck Bonville, it is expressed through 100% Chardonnay from Avize Grand Cru alone. A single-village, single-vintage champagne that reveals the full potential of the great wines of the Côte des Blancs. Vinified in stainless steel with malolactic fermentation. Six years on lees. Disgorged July 2025. The house conceives its vintage champagnes as the expression of one year's climatic conditions and the energy invested in bringing grapes to their precise moment of maturity, the Bonville philosophy of maturity over acidity at its most concentrated.
Tasting notes: The 2016 vintage reveals the complexity of the Avize terroir, aromatic notes of yellow fruits and subtle exotic nuances, while preserving the crisp, finely etched structure brought by Avize's renowned chalky soils. Rich and evolved, yet taut. A champagne that still has years ahead of it.
Food pairing: A gastronomic champagne for the great table. Outstanding with fine shellfish, lobster, noble white fish, veal and semi-cooked foie gras.
