Collection: Esterlin

Mancy / Épernay (Avenue de Champagne)

Champagne Esterlin has an unusual origin for a champagne house: it began in February 1948 when three families from the village of Mancy, on the southern slopes of Épernay near the Côte des Blancs, came together with a shared ambition to produce champagne. Those three founding families (Fransoret, Dehu, and Cadestin) gathered 29 members and 23 hectares at the outset.

Today Esterlin is a cooperative counting nearly 200 members who cultivate around 116 hectares across 52 villages, stretching from the Côte des Blancs through the Coteaux du Sézannais to the Marne Valley. It is the only champagne cooperative with a home on the famous Avenue de Champagne in Épernay, housed in a Palladian-inspired villa. Production and cellars remain in Mancy.

A key element of Esterlin's identity is its solera, a reserve wine system initiated in 1972, which provides continuity and depth across non-vintage cuvées. Over 70% of the cooperative's vineyards carry Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne (VDC) or High Environmental Value (HVE) certification. The house is defined by the spirit of sharing, a strong regional base, and a human dimension that has guided it since those three families first shook hands in 1948.
